Ubud was the first stop during my trip to Bali and I was instantly in love with this beautiful city. After a lovely drive through the rice fields and cute little Balinese houses, we arrived to Fivelements luxury hotel. I had looked through a lot of pictures before choosing this resort and I was excited to see if I will really get to experience what I saw in the pictures. After checking in to the private villa in Ubud, I realized that the pictures don’t even do it justice.
The Rooms at Fivelements Hotel
The villas are perfectly designed for the ultimate tropical experience. There’s a huge bed right in the middle of the room with a mosquito net surrounding it, which adds to the beauty of the décor. Everything else is outdoor. The backside of the room opens up to an outdoor bathroom and sink, along with an amazing shower. As soon as I saw that, I had to try it immediately! The outdoor shower gave me goosebumps every time… you will only understand what I mean if you try it yourself.
My favorite part of the villa was the beautiful front terrace right on the Ayung River. When I opened the door to the terrace and stepped outside, I knew that this was going to be the most relaxing spot. There’s a huge bathtub along with some relaxing lounge chairs and all you can hear around you is the sound of the river and the beautiful nature surrounding it. The bathtub can be filled with a warm healing bath with fresh flowers for a truly relaxing treat.
Vegan Dining Bali
Fivelements is a vegetarian resort with no alcohol and the chef has done an incredible job creating some unique and creative dishes. The breakfast is delicious, especially the gluten-free pancakes. Another one of my favorites was the chef’s 3-course menu that I enjoyed for lunch. The dessert was white chocolate with passion fruit sauce and it is a must-try!
The whole spa experience at Fivelements was absolutely wonderful! There’s a long menu of healing treatments to pick from and the spa itself is really beautiful with semi-outdoor treatment rooms that really make you feel like you’re in the middle of wilderness while getting your massage.
An interesting experience that you can try are the “Healing Rituals” which are 90 minute treatments with traditional Balinese healers. Each healer has a different specialty and you can choose what you like according to your own needs. My healer was an amazing man who has learned his practice from his grandfather who was a medicine man that lived to be 115 years old!
Ubud town, the Monkey Forest, and the Tegalalang rice fields are all around a 15min ride away, which can be easily arranged by the front desk. All in all I really loved my stay at Fivelements and highly recommend it for a relaxing stay in Ubud.
